Web Accessibility: One of Canadialog’s Priorities
Canadialog offers consulting services associated to web accessibility and designed to improve inclusion.
Why making your web site more accessible?
Because using the Internet, web sites, or even mobile applications is part of today’s daily life. It is often believed that accessibility is only aimed at people with physical or sensory limitations whose access to information needs to be easier. That assumption is wrong!
An accessible web site will benefit all of your customers. It was shown that when a web site meets stringent accessibility standards, it is generally better structured, making it easier for users to locate the information they are looking for. Moreover, appropriate font size and colour choices as well as clean graphics will benefit everybody. Finally, an accessible web site is easier to use with a mobile phone, and this is of significant importance in today’s world.
Canadialog offers you its expertise to guide you and to help you through your web site evaluation.
Two standards may be used to evaluate your web site, namely the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0, which is a globally-recognized standard, and the Standard du gouvernement du Québec sur les ressources informationnelles (SGQRI) 008-01. The latter is based on the former and features more comprehensive questions to make sure criteria are fully understood and to avoid ambiguity.
In addition to a technical assessment based on the aforementioned standards, we offer you a functional assessment which was specifically designed to improve accessibility for users of screen reading programs.
